Marc Dawodu

Executive Director

Marc Dawodu was appointed the Executive Director of Signext Energy Nigeria in July 2023 after 17 years of working in different capacities in the advertising industry in Nigeria.

Before joining Signext Energy, he served as Head of Integrated Services at Elin Group Limited (EGL), where he was the major convergence point of reference for due diligence, while charting his agenda of continuous sustainable development in the conglomerate.
Mr. Dawodu is also a founding member of management of Skyla Air Limited, a subsidiary of Post Assurance Brokers Limited. A multi-faceted business concern in the world of aviation risk management and general insurance. He serves as the Accountable Manager and the mitochondrion of the budding airline.

Before his last role of the Head of Integrated Services at EGL, he was the Accounts Director at Insight Communications Limited now known as Insight Publicis Inc. A renowned advertising agency of repute, also known to be the most awarded Creative Agency in West Africa.
Mr. Dawodu rose through the ranks, having joined in 2003 as a Trainee Executive and rose to become an Accounts Director managing the ever-challenging Nigerian Breweries accounts comprising of Heineken, Gulder, Legend Extra Stout and Amstel Malta to mention but a few. He led the team that shot the first-ever Africa-produced Heineken TVC in Johannesburg, South Africa.

He helped launch and directly supervised the advent of Startimes Pay TV in Nigeria. He also led the Agency Team that launched Castrol Oil range of lubricants in Nigeria. His experience spans across various industries having worked extensively across sectors from financial technology services, FMCG, Government and Oil & Gas sectors.

From 2005 to 2007, Mr. Dawodu served as the Chief Responsible Officer on the HP account and Vigeo Ltd while working with SO&U Saatchi & Saatchi, Lagos and in April 2007, joined ZK Advertising to lead the team on the FCMB account and later Food Concepts. In 2008, he returned to Insight Communications Limited in the capacity of a Senior Executive to take over the Nigerian Breweries Accounts. Working closely with the Client to relaunch Legend Extra Stout and then Tecno Phantom series of mobile phones in Nigeria. He helped develop and implement the relaunch strategy that transformed Tecno Mobile from a walk-in to one of the most popular and sought-after mobile phones in Nigeria today.

Previously, Mr. Dawodu worked in a TV production firm with the focus on creating cutting edge advertorials and commercials for major advertising agencies like STB McCaan, Lintas, MC&A, SO&U and Insight Communications Ltd before moving on to join the agency full time.
Mr. Dawodu serves in different advisory roles for Marcforte Business Consulting, Eyekontact Nigeria, ATIFAC Nigeria amongst others. He is an alumnus of Metropolitan School of Business Management London and Crescom Greenwood College, Colorado, USA.
